## Notes

- The sizes ONE distributor lists, not a standard: Metals Depot's cold finish 1018 (AISI 1018 / ASTM A108 / UNS G10180) round (53 diameters, 1/8 to 6 in) and square (30 sizes, 1/8 to 6 in) steel bar, and its 6061 aluminium square bar (30 sizes, 1/4 to 8 in; 6061-T6511 per ASTM B221 for most, the 1/4 in and 8 in listings say 6061-T6). 'yes' means it is listed; '-' means not listed by that distributor in that product, not that nobody makes it. Round diameter and square side are the nominal size; cold-finished bar is held to ASTM A108 tolerances that are not on the page.
- Stock lengths on the same pages: 2, 4, 6 ft and 10 to 12 ft random lengths (steel), 2, 4, 6, 12 ft (aluminium), standard length tolerance ±1/4 in; some sizes also list 1, 8, 10, 12 and 20 ft. The page also lists 7, 8, 10 and 12 in rounds, but as hot rolled, not cold finish, so they are not in the table.
- Left out: flat bar (the Metals Depot page gives no thickness × width list; Continental Steel's hot rolled A36 flat bar page lists 20 ft bars from 1/8 × 1/2 in but shows 25 of 280 items and has two typos in them, a wrong weight and a mislabelled width, so it is not tabulated), hex bar, metric round and square bar, hot rolled round, aluminium round and flat bar. Weights per foot are not on the Metals Depot pages used and are not computed here.

**What diameters does 1018 cold finished round bar come in?**

At Metals Depot: 1/8 in to 3 in in steps of 1/16 or 1/8 in (some sizes skipped), then 3-1/4, 3-1/2, 3-3/4, 4, 4-1/2, 5 and 6 in (the table lists all 53).

**What lengths is bar stock sold in?**

2, 4, 6 ft and 10 to 12 ft random lengths for the steel, 2, 4, 6 and 12 ft for the aluminium square; tolerance ±1/4 in.

**What aluminum alloy is square bar?**

6061, usually T6511 (ASTM B221), per the distributor's page.
