## Notes

- Cam and groove (camlock) couplings are specified in the US by Commercial Item Description A-A-59326D (supersedes MIL-C-27487); it numbers 22 coupling types with Roman numerals. The trade letters used on catalogs and here are: A adapter x female thread, B adapter x male thread, C coupler x hose shank, D coupler x female thread, E adapter x hose shank, F coupler x male thread, DC dust cap (fits a coupler), DP dust plug (fits an adapter).
- Adapter (male half) flange diameter is printed in A-A-59326D Table II as dimension B (equal to H); Genebre's datasheet D for the same sizes agrees within 0.3 mm for 3/4 to 4 in, so the number is cross-checked by two sources. The standard's 1/2 in half uses the same body as 3/4 in (1.264 in); Genebre's 1/2 in is a smaller 23.8 mm body.
- Threads are NPT unless a spec sheet says otherwise (A-A-59326D); the European range (Pathel) is BSPP for A and D, BSPT for B and F: the thread letter is not the coupling.
- Left out, no file: the groove profile of the adapter. Table II lists letters A to K (for 1-1/2 in: A 1.690, B 2.105, C .441, D .13, E .690, F 1.62, J .13, K .58 in), but the figure that says which letter is groove diameter, groove width or lip radius could not be read, so Xem does not publish a revolved adapter. Overall length depends on the type and the hose shank/thread: Genebre's L is listed for E, DC and DP only.
- Dust cap and plug have the same flange diameter as the adapter; cap/plug lengths are Genebre's L.
