## Notes

- Round carbon tube stock in the sizes one maker lists, OD and ID exactly as printed in each product title (OD first, ID in brackets). Wall = (OD − ID) / 2. Lengths offered: 1000 mm, most also 2000 mm.
- Pultruded tubes are the small sizes (0.7 to 12 mm OD); roll-wrapped tubes run from 5 to 60 mm OD in plain and woven finish. The same OD can come with two IDs (10 × 8 and 10 × 9, 12 × 10 and 12 × 11, 25 × 22 and 25 × 23): check the ID before designing an insert.
- Nesting: where one tube's nominal ID equals another's OD (6 × 4 in 8 × 6, 8 × 6 in 10 × 8, 10 × 8 in 12 × 10, 12 × 10 in 14 × 12, 14 × 12 in 16 × 14, 16 × 14 in 18 × 16, 18 × 16 in 20 × 18, 20 × 18 in 22 × 20) the pair is line-to-line at nominal size: check the real tolerance before relying on it as a slip fit. Tube tolerances are not on the maker's list pages.
- Files: one 50 mm section per published OD × ID (true size, no clearance) to subtract from a clamp, socket or wing root, or to check a fit.
- The two hexagon pultrusions (14 (12) and 16 (14)) are listed without saying whether the size is across flats or corners, so they have no file.
