**Exact dimensions.** Every file is drawn at true size with no printing tolerance. The holes and pins that meet another part are listed below under Mating features, with the fit each joint needs; open those by your printer's or process's clearance before making the part.

## Notes

- A plain shank with a head on one end and a cross-hole for a split pin near the other. The shank length L is measured under the head, so each file is L plus the head height overall (Ø3 × 12 is 13 long, Ø8 × 40 is 43).
- Head Ø × height, cross-hole Ø and hole axis from the shank end, by pin Ø: 3 → 5 × 1, 0.8, 1.6; 4 → 6 × 1, 1.0, 2.2; 5 → 8 × 1.6, 1.2, 2.9; 6 → 10 × 2, 1.6, 3.2; 8 → 14 × 3, 2.0, 3.5.
- The shank is drawn at the pin Ø exactly. The holes it passes through on a clevis or link are drawn at the same Ø; which joints turn on the pin and which hold it fixed is listed under Mating features.
- The cross-hole takes an ISO 1234 split pin of the same nominal size (0.8 hole, 0.8 split pin). The R-clips in this library have a 1.2 wire, which passes the Ø1.2, Ø1.6 and Ø2.0 cross-holes of the Ø5, Ø6 and Ø8 pins.

## Questions

**What are the dimensions of a 5 mm clevis pin?**

ISO 2341 B Ø5: head Ø8 × 1.6, split-pin hole Ø1.2 with its axis 2.9 mm from the end. The Ø5 × 20 file is 21.6 mm overall.

**What size split pin goes in a clevis pin?**

The split-pin size equals the cross-hole Ø: 0.8 for a Ø3 pin, 1.0 for Ø4, 1.2 for Ø5, 1.6 for Ø6, 2.0 for Ø8.

**How long is a clevis pin measured?**

Under the head: a Ø3 × 20 pin has a 20 mm shank and a 1 mm head, 21 mm overall.
