Pot and pan lid sizes: how cookware is measured, lid knob M5 screw, replacement knob STL — dimension sheet Source: Xem Studio, https://xemstudio.com/objects/cookware-lids-and-pans/ (CC BY 4.0) Basis: Cookware maker's sizing guide (rim measurement, reference sizes); lid knob thread as listed by a replacement-knob seller; knob is a Xem Studio design Catalog version: 2026-10-20 Sizes: see table below - Pans and pots are sized by the top rim, wall top to wall top, rounded down: a '12 in' pan measures between 12 and 13 in. Measure your rim before buying a lid; the cooking surface is much smaller. - Lids sit on or just inside the rim: a lid holder or rack slot for a nominal 28 cm lid wants about 290–300 mm of clearance. - Lid knobs: replacement knobs are commonly sold with an M5 screw (M5 × 24 listed) that goes up through the lid. The printed knobs here take that screw into an M5 nut in a top pocket; use a heat-resistant filament (PETG is marginal near a hot lid, ASA/PC better) or keep them for cold-storage lids. nominal rim_in rim_mm cooking_surface_in 6 in 6.84 173.7 4.72 8 in 8.5 215.9 5.0 10 in 10.5 266.7 7.5 12 in 12.5 317.5 9.5 14 in 14.0 355.6 12.5 Files elsewhere (not hosted by Xem Studio; license as stated by the publisher): - Made In Cookware: Frying pan sizes: how they are measured — web — Publisher's page; dimensions are facts — https://madeincookware.com/blogs/frying-pan-sizes - Replacement knob listing (Walmart): Pot lid knob, M5 × 24 screw, Ø57 — web — Publisher's page; dimensions are facts — https://www.walmart.com/ip/383983328 Free files (CC BY 4.0, Xem Studio; STEP + STL, 2 parts): https://xemstudio.com/files/hardware/cookware-lids-and-pans/index.json API: https://xemstudio.com/api/geometry?object=cookware-lids-and-pans
