The type letter only changes the wall: Type K is the thickest, Type L is the medium wall, Type M is thinner, and DWV (drain, waste, vent) is the thinnest of all (Zoro: very thin wall, for drain-waste-vent use only). Type K and L are made in 1/4 to 12 in, Type M from 3/8 to 12 in, DWV from 1-1/4 to 8 in in the tables read. - ASTM B88 covers seamless water tube (K, L, M); ASTM B306 covers DWV tube. The standards themselves were not read. The numbers are Engineers Edge's table (inch, OD, ID, wall for all four types); Engineering ToolBox prints the same Type K table (18 sizes, OD, wall and ID equal), and Zoro prints the same K / L / M IDs for 1/4 to 3 in (every value equal). In every row of the Engineers Edge table the ID equals OD − 2 × wall to within 0.001 in (checked in this script) except one: its DWV 3 in row prints an ID of 3.030 in, where 3.125 − 2 × 0.045 is 3.035 in; the wall 0.045 agrees with the weight sheet, so the ID shown for that row is the derived 3.035. Millimetres are inches × 25.4, rounded to 0.01. - Weight per foot is from a copper-tube weight sheet (title 'Copper Tube for Plumbing and Mechanical Applications', 2022-04-06; the maker is not named in the text read; the column is headed WT/FT and no unit is printed, read here as pounds per foot). It is not a second source for the walls, but it is consistent with them: weight ÷ ((OD − wall) × wall) is constant to within 0.8 % across every size of each type (a check made here, not a published statement). - 1/4 to 2 in Type L and M are on copper-pipe-type-l-m; the Type L / M rows here repeat them so one table covers every size. Plumbers call this 'copper pipe' and 'copper tube'; the tables here are the water-tube sizes (nominal + 1/8 in OD). - Files: 100 mm hollow sections of Type K (all 18 sizes), Type L and M from 2-1/2 to 6 in, and DWV (all 8 sizes).
