> What are 35 mm DIN rail dimensions?

- Category: Hardware › Framing
- Kind: Hardware
- Basis: EN 60715 top-hat rail TS35 × 7.5

## Notes

- 35 mm wide (±0.3), 7.5 mm deep (15 mm deep version exists), 1 mm steel; lips 1 mm thick leave a 27 mm inner width. Mounting slots on 25 mm pitch down the centre.
- A printed clip hooks one lip and snaps over the other: the flange is 35.0 wide, so the clip's opening is 35.3 and the hook depth 1.0–1.2 mm with a spring tab.
- Files: the rail profile at 100 and 200 mm, for checking a printed enclosure clip.

## Questions

**How wide is a DIN rail?**

35 mm (TS35), 7.5 mm deep for the common rail, 15 mm for the deep one. The older 15 mm and 32 mm G-rails are different standards.

**How do I design a 3D printed DIN rail clip?**

Hook one lip (1 mm thick, 35 mm outer width), spring over the other with a 1.2 mm deep catch; leave 0.3 mm of clearance on the width.
