## Notes

- FASTON is TE's name for the flat blade (tab) and receptacle quick-connect system; the same sizes are sold by many makers under 'quick disconnect', 'spade', 'blade' and 'push-on' names. TE's 4.8 mm guide cites IEC 61210 (VDE 613) for the tab. The 4.8 mm (.187) tab comes in 0.81 mm (0.032 in) and 0.51 mm (0.020 in) thickness; the 6.35 mm (.250) tab is listed at 0.81 and 0.83 mm.
- Metric 6.3 mm and imperial .250 in are the same tab family: TE prints 6.35 mm, one RS listing of a TE receptacle says 6.3 mm. Thickness 0.8 is a rounding of 0.81. Both are shown as read.
- Left out: the 2.8 mm (.110) and 9.5 mm (.375) tabs and the detent hole / dimple sizes: no readable labelled table was reached for them. The IEC 61210 text itself was not read (paywalled); use the tab and receptacle drawings of the part you buy.
- McMaster-Carr's quick-disconnect category and electrical quick-connects category (free STEP/IGES per part) are linked below.
- No files: a tab is a flat strip and the detent geometry is not published in the pages read.

## Mating features (exact size; open press / slide / run / socket by your process clearance, leave designed and clamp as drawn)

| feature | exact | mates with | fit | files |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 4.8 mm (.187) FASTON tab | 4.8 wide × 0.81 or 0.51 thick | 4.8 mm FASTON receptacle (15 mm long) | slide | all |
| 6.35 mm (.250) FASTON tab | 6.35 wide × 0.81 or 0.83 thick | .250 FASTON receptacle (TE) | slide | all |

## Sizes

| tab size | tab width × thickness, mm | source | note |
|---|---|---|---|
| 4.8 mm (.187 in) | 4.8 × 0.81 (0.032 in) and 4.8 × 0.51 (0.020 in) | TE 4.8 mm FASTON receptacle quick reference guide (IEC 61210) | receptacle length 15 mm (0.59 in); wire 0.5 to 1.5 mm² (20-16 AWG) and 1.0 to 2.5 mm² (17-14 AWG) |
| 4.8 mm (.187 in) | 4.8 × 0.8 and 4.8 × 0.5 | RS listings of TE PCB tabs | same two thicknesses as TE's guide, rounded |
| 6.35 mm (.250 in) | 6.35 × 0.81 and 6.35 × 0.83 | RS listings of TE PCB tabs | two thicknesses seen on different parts; sources differ by 0.02 mm |
| 6.3 mm | 6.3 (thickness not stated) | RS listing of a TE grey uninsulated crimp receptacle | 18-14 AWG; 'tab size 6.3 mm' |
| #187 (Omron V-series terminals) | t = 0.5 | Omron V data sheet copies | thickness of the #187 switch terminal; width printed as '.187 in (4.7 mm)' in the spec list |
