- Flat-pack furniture mostly uses Ø8 × 30 mm fluted dowels; replacements are generic.
- Drill 0.2 mm over nominal in MDF / chipboard (Ø8.2 for Ø8).
- Printed dowels: print standing up, 100 % infill, and glue them; for load-bearing joints use wood.
