Jaw (spider) couplings L035 to L225: bore range, overall diameter, length, hub width, set screw — dimension sheet Source: Xem Studio, https://xemstudio.com/objects/jaw-spider-couplings-l-series/ (sheet CC BY 4.0) Basis: BEP metric jaw coupling table, compared with McMaster-Carr's jaw coupling sizes and Qtec's inch table; McMaster-Carr linked for CAD Catalog version: 2026-10-20 Sizes: see table below - Jaw couplings (spider couplings, L-series, 'lovejoy' style) join two shafts with two metal hubs with interlocking jaws and an elastomer spider between them: they absorb small misalignment and damp vibration but are not torsionally stiff. The L number names the size (L050, L070, L090 and L100 are the common ones for steppers, servos and small motors); hubs come pilot-bored or finished to a bore up to the maximum listed. - Numbers: BEP's metric table (pilot bore, maximum bore, overall Ø, assembled length, hub width, hub Ø, set screw), compared with McMaster-Carr's jaw coupling listing (overall Ø × length) and a Qtec inch table. Where McMaster differs the McMaster value is shown in brackets: the overall Ø agrees within 1 mm (L050 27.5 / 27, L075 44.5 / 45, L110 84 / 85), the length agrees for 9 of the 11 sizes and differs for L035 (20 against 21), L190 (133 against 124, Qtec inch 4-7/8) and L225 (153 against 137). - Where the lengths disagree the sources are for different hub/spider assemblies (hub widths and spider thickness vary between makers): use the maker's drawing for a length-critical design. McMaster also lists an L099 (65 × 73) which the BEP table does not have. - Files: none. The hub profile (jaw teeth, spider lobes, clamp or set-screw boss) is not in the tables. - Left out: keyways, spider hardness grades, torque ratings, taper-lock and clamp-style hubs, inch metric bore lists. size pilot bore, mm max bore, mm overall Ø, mm assembled length, mm hub width, mm hub Ø, mm set screw L035 3 8 16 20 (McMaster 21) 7 16 M3 L050 6 14 27.5 (McMaster 27) 44 16 27.5 M6 L070 9 19 35 51 19 35 M6 L075 9 24 44.5 (McMaster 45) 54 21 44.5 M6 L090 9 24 54 54 21 54 M6 L095 9 28 54 64 25 54 M8 L100 12 35 65 89 35 65 M8 L110 15 42 84 (McMaster 85) 108 43 84 M10 L150 15 48 96 115 45 96 M10 L190 19 55 115 133 (McMaster 124) 54 102 M12 L225 19 60 127 153 (McMaster 137) 64 108 M12 Files elsewhere (not hosted by Xem Studio; license as stated by the publisher): - BEP Ltd (L-series coupling table): Jaw coupling L035 to L225: pilot and max bore, overall diameter B, assembled length L, hub width C, hub diameter D, position F, set screw — web — Publisher's page; dimensions are facts — https://bepltd.com/cdn/shop/files/LOVEJOY-COUPLING.pdf - Qtec Technology: Jaw coupling hubs L050 to L190 (inch): OD and overall length, bores — web — Publisher's page; dimensions are facts — https://www.qtec-technology.com/uploads/society/download/catalog/3/124.pdf - McMaster-Carr: Jaw (spider) couplings (free STEP/IGES per part, for your own design use; no redistribution) — STEP, IGES, PDF — McMaster-Carr site terms: personal design use, no redistribution [verify license at link] — https://www.mcmaster.com/products/jaw-couplings/ - McMaster-Carr: Jaw coupling hubs (free STEP/IGES per part, for your own design use; no redistribution) — STEP, IGES, PDF — McMaster-Carr site terms: personal design use, no redistribution [verify license at link] — https://www.mcmaster.com/products/jaw-coupling-hubs No true-size file yet: the published figures do not fix the whole shape; a measured scan is planned.
