## Notes

- The Kailh MX hot-swap socket (CPG151101S11) is soldered to the underside of the PCB so MX-style switches plug in and out without soldering. Its two contact sleeves sit in Ø3.05 holes on the switch's two contact pins; the switch's centre post and fixing pegs use the ordinary MX holes.
- Coordinates are seen from the keycap side, the same frame as the Cherry MX footprint page: origin on the stem axis, x to the right, y towards the contact pins. Kailh draws the layout from the socket side (the board's underside), which is this pattern mirrored left to right; the hole spacing (6.35 across, 2.54 up) matches the MX pin spacing exactly.
- Positions of the switch holes are from the KiCad Cherry MX footprint; the Ø3.05 socket holes and the socket body sizes are from Kailh's drawing. Kailh gives the solder pads only as reference sizes and does not place them, so the jig has no pads: take pad copper from your PCB tool's socket footprint.
- The file is a drill jig at true size: a ring round every hole joined by bars to the centre hole.

## Questions

**What size holes does a Kailh MX hot-swap socket need?**

Two Ø3.05 mm holes on the MX contact pins, 6.35 mm apart across and 2.54 mm apart up, plus the usual Ø4.0 centre hole (and Ø1.7 pegs for 5-pin switches).

**How big is the socket?**

14.50 mm long and 1.85 mm tall per Kailh's drawing.
