## Notes

- Two syringes in a 90° V on one crank pin: the alpha with no displacer, checked so the pistons stay in and the rods clear.
- Numbers: stroke 16 · rod 60 · 2.6 mL per cylinder · 90° phase from the V · Ø100 nut flywheel

## Sizes

| subsystem | object | parts | qty | note |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Frame | alpha-v-twin-frame | alpha-frame-10ml | 1 | print on its back; both barrel axes pass through the crank axis |
| Crank disc | alpha-v-twin-frame | alpha-crank-disc-s16 | 1 | ONE pin: the 90° V gives the 90° phase |
| Con-rods | alpha-v-twin-frame | alpha-conrod-60 | 2 | 60 mm so they clear the barrel walls |
| Pistons | syringe-pistons | syringe-piston-10ml-f008 | 2 | replace the plungers; lap into the barrels, run dry |
| Cylinders | plastic-syringes | syringe-10ml | 2 | barrels only. |
| Crankshaft | stirling-shafts-and-rods | crankshaft-5x80-dflat | 1 | print flat side down, 100 % infill |
| Bearings | ball-bearings-metric | bearing-625 | 2 | both ends of the boss |
| Crank pin | stirling-shafts-and-rods | pin-3x20 | 1 | pressed 6 mm into the disc. |
| Spacers | stirling-shafts-and-rods | spacer-5mm-t2, spacer-3mm-t1 | 1 | 2 mm boss-to-disc on the shaft; 1 mm disc-rod and rod-rod on the pin |
| Pin collar | shaft-collars-clips-and-shafts | collar-3mm | 1 | keeps rod 2 on the pin |
| Piston pins | dowel-pins-metric | dowel-3x12 | 2 | through each piston fork |
| Flywheel | nut-weighted-flywheels | flywheel-100-m8-b5 | 1 | behind the boss; 12 M8 nuts, remove until it still carries |
| Flywheel weights | nut-weighted-flywheels | nut-m8 | 12 | remove until it still carries |
| Transfer | alpha-twin-crank-90 | transfer-tee-4mm | 1 | between the syringe tips; regenerator plug of #100 mesh in the tee |
| Tube | silicone-tube-and-fittings | silicone-tube-4x6-50 | 1 | keep it short |
| Mount | t-slot-extrusions | 2020-100 | 1 | foot: 2 × M5 at 50 mm; frame at the rail's end so the flywheel hangs clear |
| Heat | tea-light-candles | tea-light-38x16 | 1 | under the hot barrel's tip end |

## Build order

1. Print the frame, crank disc, two con-rods, two syringe pistons, crankshaft, pin, spacers, flywheel, transfer tee.
2. Lap each piston into its barrel until it sinks slowly with the tip open; no oil.
3. Press the 625s into the boss; shaft through with the 2 mm spacer; crank disc on its D-flat, grub tight.
4. Pin into the disc; 1 mm spacer, rod 1 (to the +45° socket), 1 mm spacer, rod 2; 3 mm collar on the pin end.
5. Pistons onto the rods with the 3 × 12 dowels; slide the barrels over the pistons from the crank side, tip outward, flange against the socket; pinch screws.
6. Tee with a mesh plug between the tips on short silicone tube; flywheel on the back of the shaft.
7. Heat the hot barrel's tip end; flick the flywheel.
