# Motor stator size naming (e.g. 2207)

> What does 2207 mean on a drone motor?

- Category: Drone design › Drone frame layouts
- Kind: Standard part
- Basis: Design rules and figures from the cited sources; example geometry by Xem Studio

**Exact dimensions.** True size, with no printing tolerance added.

## Notes

- A four-digit motor code gives stator dimensions in mm: the first two digits are diameter, the last two height, so 2206 is 22 x 6 mm and 2207 is 22 x 7 mm (GetFPV). They do not describe the outer can.
- Larger stators turn bigger props: 5 in builds use 2207-2308 class motors, 7 in use 2806-3106 (Oscar Liang).

## Sizes

| parameter | value or range | source |
|---|---|---|
| 2207 | 22 mm dia x 7 mm stator | GetFPV |
| 5 in prop motors | 2306, 2207, 2208, 2308 | Oscar Liang table |
| 7 in prop motors | 2806, 2807, 2808, 3106 | Oscar Liang table |
| 3 in prop motors | 1303-1506 | Oscar Liang table |
| Mount, 220x-240x motors | 16 x 19 mm, M3 | GetFPV |

## Questions

**Is 2207 the can size?**

No, the stator (GetFPV).
