- Standard male header: plastic 2.54 mm square per position × 2.5 mm tall; pin 0.64 mm square, 6 mm above the plastic, 3 mm below. Total height above board 8.5 mm. A Dupont jumper housing adds 14 mm, so budget 23 mm over a header for cables.
- Row spacing 2.54 mm; a 2×20 Pi header is 50.8 × 5.08 × 8.5 mm. Right-angle headers extend 6 mm past the board edge at 2.5 mm height.
- Case clearance over a 1×n vertical header with nothing plugged in: 9 mm. Female stacking headers (sockets) are 8.5 mm tall with 2.54 mm pitch.
