## Notes

- Zeus' datasheet gives the fluoropolymer tubing family (ETFE, FEP, PFA, PTFE) one set of fractional sizes; the page does not break out PTFE alone, so these are sizes in which PTFE tube is made, not a PTFE-only table. Standard-wall and thin-wall tubing are sized by nominal ID: 1/8 in 0.125 (range 0.120–0.130), 3/16 in 0.192 (0.188–0.198), 1/4 in 0.255 (0.250–0.260), 5/16 in 0.321 (0.313–0.332), 3/8 in 0.387 (0.375–0.394), 1/2 in 0.515 (0.500–0.520 in). The ID-by-size table prints a 1/8 row twice (0.120 / 0.125 / 0.130 and 0.125 / 0.130 / 0.135) and the wall table also has two 1/8 rows, but the datasheet does not label which is which; both are shown, in the datasheet's order, without pairing them.
- Wall (nominal ± tolerance, in), per size: 1/8 in standard 0.020 ±0.004, thin 0.015 ±0.003 (and a lightweight 0.008 ±0.002 row); 3/16 in 0.020 / 0.015 / lightweight 0.010; 1/4 in 0.020 / 0.015 / lightweight 0.010; 5/16 in 0.020 / 0.015 / lightweight 0.012; 3/8 in 0.025 / 0.015 / lightweight 0.015; 1/2 in 0.025 / 0.018 / lightweight 0.018. The datasheet does not print the OD for these; adding 2 × wall to the ID is arithmetic left to the reader, and the nominal ID is not a design dimension within its range.
- 'Industrial specification tubing' is sized differently and the datasheet prints ID and OD together: 1/16 in 0.063 × 0.125, 1/8 in 0.125 × 0.188, 3/16 in 0.188 × 0.250, 1/4 in 0.250 × 0.313, 5/16 in 0.313 × 0.375, 3/8 in 0.375 × 0.438, 1/2 in 0.500 × 0.563 in (tolerance ±0.005 in, ±0.006 in for 1/2 in; in mm 1.60 × 3.18 up to 12.70 × 14.30). The wall is printed as 0.30 in in the inch column but 0.76 mm in the mm column, and (OD − ID) ÷ 2 is 0.031 in, so 0.76 mm (about 0.030 in) is the number used; the inch printing '0.30' is a typo in the datasheet.
- AWG-sized fluoropolymer tubing (catalog sizes by wire gauge) exists in the same catalog but its table was not read cleanly and is not on this page. Pressure, temperature and chemical data are not copied. Related tubing: nylon-tubing-inch-metric-sizes, tygon-vinyl-tubing-e-3603-sizes, polyethylene-tubing-lldpe-sizes. No files: tubing is not drawn as a fixed shape.

## Questions

**What is the OD of 1/4 inch ID PTFE tubing?**

In Zeus' industrial-specification tubing, 1/4 in ID (0.250 ±0.005) has an OD of 0.313 ±0.005 in (7.95 mm), wall 0.76 mm. Standard and thin wall sizes are given by ID and wall (0.020 / 0.015 in at 1/4 in); no OD is printed for them.

**What wall is thin-wall PTFE tubing?**

0.015 ±0.003 in (0.38 mm) for 1/8 to 3/8 in ID, 0.018 ±0.004 in (0.46 mm) at 1/2 in, in Zeus' table.

**What is the nominal ID of '1/4 inch' PTFE tubing?**

0.255 in (6.48 mm), range 0.250–0.260 in, for standard and thin wall.
