Spears and Aetna print these definitions (G: laying length, centre-line intersection to bottom of socket; H: intersection to face; J: same as G for 45° elbows; L: overall length; M: hub OD; N: socket bottom to socket bottom for couplings; W: cap height). Charlotte's Schedule 40 pages print the letters without a figure legend; the same letters are defined on its Schedule 80 page, and the Sch 40 values satisfy those definitions (H - G or H - J never falls below the D2466 minimum socket length C). - Makers differ, so no single 'PVC elbow' size exists. Example 3/4 in 90° elbow: Charlotte H 1-5/16, Spears H 1-1/2 (G is 9/16 in both); 1-1/4 in: Charlotte G 7/8, Spears G 31/32. Charlotte prints the same H (2-1/8 in) for its 1-1/4 and 1-1/2 in 90° elbows; kept as printed. The table shows Charlotte for all five fittings (one catalogue, one table style) and Spears / Aetna wherever a readable table or sheet exists; Lasco, NIBCO and JM Eagle dimension tables for these fittings were searched for and not readable (JM Eagle's sheet is pipe only, NIBCO's catalogue pages list part numbers and weights, Lasco's submittal has no dimensions). - Reading Charlotte's text: the catalogue text carries mixed numbers without a separator ('11/4' is 1-1/4; '11/16' could be 11/16 or 1-1/16). A reading was accepted only when exactly one parse satisfied the ASTM D2466 minimum socket length (and, for tees, L = 2H). Where two parses both fit, the size is left out; dropped here: 90° elbow 2; 45° elbow 4. Treat the Charlotte figures as one read of one PDF and confirm against the part for a tight fit. - Spears / Aetna columns: 90° elbow and tee from Spears' 406 sheets, Spears' technical catalogue and Aetna's sheet (the tee also from an unnamed maker's spec sheet); where the printings disagree all values are shown (for example the 1 in elbow H). 45° elbow, coupling and cap: single Spears part sheets only (417-007, 417-020G, 417-025, 429-005, 447-030L); the 2-1/2 in 45° elbow equals Charlotte; the 3 in clear cap (447-030L) has W 3-3/8 against Charlotte's 2-15/16, the 1/2 in coupling L 1-19/32 against 1-7/8. - Files (43): Xem-drawn hollow bodies from Charlotte's lengths. Sockets are the D2466 taper (entrance A to bottom B over the maker's socket depth). The waterway Ø D and the hub Ø M are the D2466 MINIMUMS (the standard publishes no maximums), so the models are slimmer than a molded fitting; use them for clearance and for socket pockets in printed parts, not as an outside-diameter reference. No bosses, ribs, markings or fillets; the elbow and tee centre-line crossing is a sphere of the hub diameter. Elbows and the tee lie in the XY plane centred on the crossing; couplings and caps are on the Z axis. - Left out: Schedule 80 fittings (no Sch 80 fitting table read), reducing, street, threaded and sweep fittings, DWV fittings (ASTM D2665; McMaster's DWV category is linked), cleanouts, and any hub OD or bore above the D2466 minimum.
