The one-piece clamp style (Ruland MCLC / MCLX, 'clamp-style') closes a slit on the shaft with clamp screws; the set-screw style (MSCX / MSCC) locks with set screws, often on the keyway flat. Sizes are named by bore: MCLC-12-12 is a 12 mm bore on both ends. - Table: the OD and length in Ruland's metric tables are identical across MCLC (clamp, keyway), MSCX (set screw) and MSCC (set screw, keyway) for every bore they share (8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 50 mm; MSCX also 6 mm; MCLC also 15 mm). The 15 mm bore is from the MCLC table only. Black-oxide steel (F) and 303 stainless steel (SS) versions have the same OD and length. Rated speed is 4,000 rpm in the MCLC table. - Screws: MSCX-6 uses 4 set screws M4 (2 mm hex wrench), shaft penetration 15 mm per side, seating torque 2.2 Nm. MCLX-3-3-A uses 4 forged clamp screws M2 (1.5 mm wrench), shaft penetration 11 mm, seating torque 0.6 Nm. MCLX-25-20-F uses 4 clamp screws M6 (5 mm wrench). The other sizes' screw sizes were not read, so none are invented here. - Bore tolerance (Ruland datasheet, MCLX-3-3-A): +0.050 / +0.012 mm; recommended shaft: +0.000 / −0.013 mm.
