Rocker switch panel cutouts: KCD1-style 19.3 × 13, 22 × 30 mm, Carling Contura / APEM KG 36.8 × 21.1 + cutout gauge — dimension sheet Source: Xem Studio, https://xemstudio.com/objects/rocker-switch-panel-cutouts/ (sheet CC BY 4.0) Basis: Multicomp, Multicomp Pro, Arcolectric, GEV, Carling and APEM datasheets, plus a McMaster-Carr category row; one gauge plate as a file. KCD3 and E-Switch R5 cutouts were not usable and are left out Catalog version: 2026-10-20 Overall (mm): length 118.1, width 38.0, height 2.0 - A snap-in rocker switch fits a rectangular hole with a spring-clip body behind the panel; the hole is slightly smaller than the bezel. Rows give the maker's cutout as width × height (mm) and the panel thickness range the clips take. The page panel-cutouts already has KCD1 (19 × 13) and KCD4 (30 × 22) as rounded numbers; this page gives the maker datasheet figures and the other families. - KCD1-size: Multicomp's MC36328 sheet prints a bezel of 21 × 15 mm and a cutout of 19.3 × 13 mm at 1 mm panel growing to 19.5 × 13 mm at 3 mm; Arcolectric's 8500 series prints 19.3 × 12.9 mm; McMaster's miniature rocker row reads 3/4 × 1/2 in (19.05 × 12.7 mm) from a category summary. A blog (LCSC) calls 21.2 × 15.0 mm the standard KCD1 cutout; that is the size of the bezel on the Multicomp sheet, not of the hole, so it is not used. The gauge cuts 19.3 × 13.0. - 22 × 30: Multicomp Pro's sheet prints 22 ± 0.1 × 30 (+0.2 / −0) mm for the standard version and 30.2 mm for the metal waterproof cap version; GEV's listing prints 30 × 22 mm. The gauge cuts 30.0 × 22.0 (the nominal). - Large power rockers: Carling's Contura sheet prints one 'switch mounting hole' of 1.450 × .830 in (36.83 × 21.08 mm) for every actuator, with no label for width and height; APEM's KG sheet prints 36.80 × 21.08 mm with a 0/+0.3 tolerance (it also prints the 36.80 as '1.149 in', which is a typo for 1.449 in, so the inch figure is ignored). The gauge cuts 36.83 × 21.08 (Carling). - Left out: KCD3 (LCSC titles say 30.5 × 13.5 and 13 × 30 mm and do not say whether that is the body or the hole), E-Switch R5 (the sheet read prints three cutout widths, 30.0–30.8 mm, by panel thickness band but its other cutout dimension was not captured), and the 13 × 19.2 mm size (no maker sheet reached). Panel thickness for Arcolectric 8500, GEV and McMaster was not printed in the pages read. Plate size and 2 mm thickness are Xem choices; 2 mm is within the thickness range in every row that prints one. switch bezel / body (mm) cutout W × H (mm) panel thickness (mm) source Multicomp MC36328 (miniature, KCD1-style) bezel 21 × 15, depth 22.7 19.3 × 13 (1 mm panel) to 19.5 × 13 (3 mm panel) 1–3 Multicomp datasheet Arcolectric (Bulgin) 8500 series — 19.3 × 12.9 not read Arcolectric 8500 catalogue McMaster-Carr 'miniature rocker switches' — 3/4 in high × 1/2 in wide (19.05 × 12.7), as read from the category page not given McMaster-Carr category Multicomp Pro 22 × 30 (DPST 20 A, standard) — 30 (+0.2/−0) × 22 ± 0.1 0.7–3.5 Multicomp Pro datasheet Multicomp Pro 22 × 30 (metal waterproof cap) — 30.2 × 22 (the sheet prints 30.2 for the cap version) 0.7–2.5 Multicomp Pro datasheet GEV rocker 30 × 22 mm — 30 × 22 not given GEV listing Carling V-Series Contura (all actuators) — 36.83 × 21.08 (1.450 × .830 in; the sheet does not say which is width) 0.76–6.35 (no gasket) Carling datasheet APEM KG series (power rocker) — 36.80 × 21.08 (0/+0.3) 0.8–4.6 (2–3.5 recommended) APEM datasheet Files elsewhere (not hosted by Xem Studio; license as stated by the publisher): - Multicomp (via Farnell): MC36328 miniature rocker switch: bezel 21 x 15 mm, cut-out 19.3 x 13 mm min at 1 mm to 19.5 x 13 mm at 3 mm, panel 1 to 3 mm — web — Maker datasheet; numbers only — https://www.farnell.com/datasheets/1662750.pdf - Arcolectric (Bulgin) via DirectIndustry: 8500 series miniature rockers: panel cut-out 19.3 x 12.9 mm — web — Maker catalogue; numbers only — https://pdf.directindustry.com/pdf/arcolectric/8500/9337-583668.html - Multicomp Pro (via Farnell): 22 mm x 30 mm rocker, DPST 20 A: cut-out 22 ± 0.1 x 30 (+0.2/-0) mm, panel 0.7 to 3.5 mm (metal waterproof cap: 30.2 mm, 0.7 to 2.5 mm) — web — Maker datasheet; numbers only — https://www.farnell.com/datasheets/3626657.pdf - GEV: Rocker switch 30 x 22 mm, 2CO 250 V, faston 6.3: mounting measurements 30 x 22 mm — web — Maker page; numbers only — https://www.gev-online.com/en/webshop/product/301004 - Carling Technologies: V-Series Contura datasheet: switch mounting hole 1.450 x .830 in (36.83 x 21.08 mm), panel .030 to .250 in without gasket — web — Maker datasheet; numbers only — https://www.mouser.com/datasheet/2/65/V-Series-XIV_datasheet-357257.pdf - APEM (via Chipsmall): KG series power rocker (SW-KG-1801): panel cut-out 36.80 x 21.08 mm (0/+0.3), panel 0.8 to 4.6 mm, recommended 2 to 3.5 mm — web — Maker datasheet; numbers only — https://datasheet.chipsmall.com/KG312A2XXA/657534.pdf - LCSC: KCD1 and KCD2 rocker switches guide: standard KCD1 panel cutout 21.2 x 15.0 mm (disagrees with the maker datasheets; not used) — web — Blog; one figure checked, not used — https://www.lcsc.com/blog/kcd1-switches-rocker-switches-guide/ - McMaster-Carr: Lighted rocker switches (rockers, toggles, lever switches) (free STEP/IGES per part, for your own design use; no redistribution) — STEP, IGES, PDF — McMaster-Carr site terms: personal design use, no redistribution [verify license at link] — https://www.mcmaster.com/products/lighted-rocker-switches/ Free files (CC BY 4.0, Xem Studio; STEP + STL, 1 parts): https://xemstudio.com/files/hardware/rocker-switch-panel-cutouts/index.json API: https://xemstudio.com/api/geometry?object=rocker-switch-panel-cutouts
