# Set-screw shaft collars Ø3 to Ø12

> What are the dimensions of a shaft collar for a 5 mm or 8 mm shaft?

- Category: Hardware › Motion
- Kind: Hardware
- Basis: Metric set-screw collar envelopes; bore = shaft Ø, radial tapped hole at the ISO tap drill
- Page: https://xemstudio.com/objects/shaft-collars/ · JSON: https://xemstudio.com/api/geometry?object=shaft-collars · Plain text: https://xemstudio.com/objects/shaft-collars/sheet.txt

**Exact dimensions.** Every file is drawn at true size with no printing tolerance. The holes and pins that meet another part are listed below under Mating features, with the fit each joint needs; open those by your printer's or process's clearance before making the part.

## Notes

- A ring with one radial tapped hole at mid-width: bore Ø × OD × width and screw: 3 × 8 × 5 M3; 4 × 9 × 5 M3; 5 × 10 × 6 M3; 6 × 12 × 7 M3; 8 × 16 × 8 M4; 10 × 20 × 10 M4; 12 × 22 × 10 M5.
- The bore is the shaft Ø exactly; the screw hole is drawn at the tap drill: Ø2.5 (M3), Ø3.3 (M4), Ø4.2 (M5).
- A collar each side of a bearing locates a shaft along its axis; the set screw seats on the shaft's D-flat.
