# Square thin nuts, DIN 562: M1.6–M10 width across flats and height

> What are the DIN 562 thin square nut dimensions, for example the M3 or M5 width and height?

- Category: Hardware › Fasteners
- Kind: Standard part
- Basis: fasten.it's DIN 562 table (05/2013 edition), cross-checked against JC Fasteners' DIN 562 sheet and CDE Fasteners' DIN 562 data

**Exact dimensions.** Every file is drawn at true size with no tolerance added. The holes and pins that meet another part are listed below under Mating features, with the fit each joint needs; open those by your process's clearance before making the part.

## Notes

- Columns: thread d, width across flats s (max = nominal), height m (max = nominal). The 2013 edition gives s = 16 for M10 (the 1987 edition had 17).
- Files: square block with the thread as a plain bore at the major diameter, as for the other nuts on Xem. Real nuts may have slightly broken corners (e min is about 1.26 s).

## Mating features (exact size; open press / slide / run / socket by your process clearance, leave designed and clamp as drawn)

| thread (plain bore at the major Ø) | d: M1.6 to M10 | screw of the same thread | designed | all |
