Stainless steel pipe ASME B36.19M: OD and wall thickness for Sch 5S, 10S, 40S, 80S, NPS 1/8 to 12 (+ 14 to 18 in 5S / 10S) + hollow pipe STEP/STL — dimension sheet Source: Xem Studio, https://xemstudio.com/objects/stainless-steel-pipe-asme-b36-19m-sch-5s-10s-40s-80s/ (sheet CC BY 4.0) Basis: Wall thickness from the Engineering ToolBox stainless table (B36.19), mm cross-checked against Project Materials' mm table; NPS 14 to 18 from two sources; the standard is paywalled and was not read Catalog version: 2026-10-20 Sizes: see table below - ASME B36.19M is the stainless steel pipe standard: same OD per NPS as carbon pipe (ASME B36.10M), thinner walls in the S schedules (5S, 10S, 40S, 80S) because stainless is chosen for corrosion, not pressure. The OD is fixed per NPS in inches; the mm column is the inch value x 25.4 to 0.01 mm. The walls are in inches in the standard; the mm in the cells is the inch value x 25.4 rounded half up. - Numbers: the inch walls are from the Engineering ToolBox stainless table (NPS 1/8 to 12, all four schedules). Every wall was matched against Project Materials' mm B36.19 table (the same 18 sizes, all 70 cells) and the 40S and 80S walls equal the carbon STD and XS walls of the B36.10M page for every size. For 5S and 10S on NPS 14, 16 and 18 (0.156 / 0.188, 0.165 / 0.188, 0.165 / 0.188 in) two sources agree: the Engineering ToolBox table hosted by the US NRC and the Misumi pipe-schedule chart (Wermac's NPS 14 page also shows the 0.156 and 0.188 walls). The same sources print no 40S or 80S wall above NPS 12, so those cells are dashes. NPS 20 and up (5S, 10S exist there) are not shown because only one source (a Misumi table with misaligned rows) printed them. - Rounding: NPS 1/8 10S is 0.049 in = 1.24 mm here and in Project Materials; the Engineering ToolBox stainless table prints 1.25. NPS 10 and 5: 5S / 10S are 3.40 / 4.19 mm (Engineering ToolBox: 3.41 / 4.20). The inch values agree everywhere, so the mm column is derived from them. 5S does not exist for NPS 1/8, 1/4 and 3/8 in the sources. - 10S is not the same as carbon Sch 10 above NPS 12: carbon Sch 10 is 0.250 in on NPS 14 to 24 while 10S is 0.188 in on NPS 14 to 18. Up to NPS 12 the two have the same wall. Tri-clamp / sanitary tube (ASME BPE, OD in inches with 0.065 in wall) is a different product: see the tri-clamp pages. - Files: 13 plain hollow tubes, 100 mm long: NPS 2 in all four schedules, NPS 4 in all four, NPS 2-1/2, 3 and 6 in 10S / 40S as listed. OD and wall are the table values; the length is an example. No bevel, seam, polish or tolerance (B36.19M allows welded pipe -12.5% on wall). - Left out: NPS 20 and up, 40S / 80S above NPS 12 (none printed), weights, tolerances; the standard itself (ASME B36.19M) is paywalled and was not read.
