# Star knobs, DIN 6336 (cast iron), Ø32–80: thread, bore, height and depth

> What are the dimensions of a DIN 6336 star knob, and what threads and bores does each size come in?

- Category: Hardware › Knobs, handles & feet
- Kind: Standard part
- Basis: Ganter's DIN 6336 cast iron star knob page (five sizes, thread and bore options); numbers only
- Page: https://xemstudio.com/objects/star-knobs-din-6336/ · JSON: https://xemstudio.com/api/geometry?object=star-knobs-din-6336 · Plain text: https://xemstudio.com/objects/star-knobs-din-6336/sheet.txt

**Exact dimensions.** Every file is drawn at true size with no tolerance added. The holes and pins that meet another part are listed below under Mating features, with the fit each joint needs; open those by your process's clearance before making the part.

## Notes

- Columns are Ganter's own symbols in the order printed: d1 (knob diameter), d2 thread for the threaded types D and E, d3 H7 bore for the bored types B and C, then d4, h1, h2 (min.), t1 (min.) and t2. The page prints no units and does not define d4, h1, h2, t1 or t2 in text (its drawing is an image); the values are taken as mm, which is the unit of d1 = 32 to 80 on star knobs, but the page does not say so. Sizes 50, 63 and 80 are offered with two thread / bore options (for example M 8 or M 10 on d1 = 50), 32 and 40 with one.
- The table is for the cast iron knob. Ganter's datasheets for the plastic star knob (GN 6336) print their own tables; the column assignment of those PDFs could not be read reliably, so they are not shown and the two are not compared. The page also lists a size 25 for GN 6336.2 only, and its 'see also' mentions stainless, aluminum and plastic versions. Do not mix the tables.
- Types: D and E are threaded (stud or tapped), B and C are bored (H7); the page does not describe the types in text. Special bores, threads and cross holes are 'on request'.

No file: the star outline is not given as numbers. McMaster-Carr sells star knobs with per-part STEP; linked, not copied.
