# Stepless single-ear hose clamps: band width, thickness and size range (PG 167 series)

> What band width and size range do stepless ear clamps come in?

- Category: Tri-clamp & pipe › Pipe, tube & threads
- Kind: Standard part
- Basis: One maker's PG 167 data sheet (standard and heavy-duty series); numbers only, only the rows where the sheet's two tables agree

## Notes

- A stepless ear clamp is a single band with one formed ear that is crimped closed by a pincer tool, so it closes to any diameter, not in steps. Size range is the maker's range for the listed band; closing force is the maximum force from the installation table.
- Only rows where the data sheet's standard-series table and installation table agree are shown. Left out because the two tables disagree or the row is in only one of them: 7 × 0.6 (11.9–120.5 in the first table, 11.9–17.5 and 17.8–120.5 in the second), 10 × 1.0 (62.0–120.5 and 60.0–120.5), and 5 × 0.6, 7 × 0.8, 9 × 0.8, 10 × 0.6, 12 × 1.0 (installation table only). The sheet also lists ear width inside per reference number, but not the diameter before and after closing, so the closed shape is not drawn.
- The maker states the figures are a guide to be verified by functional tests. Spring (constant-tension) clamps: no dimension table was reached that could be checked, so they are not on this page.
- Worm-gear (SAE J1508) sizes are on the page worm-gear-hose-clamps-sae. McMaster-Carr's hose-clamp category is linked for per-part STEP, not copied.
