**Exact dimensions.** Every file is drawn at true size with no tolerance added. The holes and pins that meet another part are listed below under Mating features, with the fit each joint needs; open those by your process's clearance before making the part.

## Notes

- Columns: thread d, T-slot size (to DIN 650), neck width a (slot minus 0.4), base e (length and width), total height h, base height k. Halder lists the same a, e, h, k for every shared size (e.g. 14 mm slot: a 13.6, e 22, h 16, k 8).
- Files: square base plus a full-length neck, thread as a plain bore at the major diameter. Larger sizes (M24, M30) are in the standard but not drawn here.

## Questions

**What are the dimensions of a T-slot nut for a 14 mm slot?**

DIN 508 M12 for a 14 mm slot: 13.6 mm neck, 22 × 22 mm base, 16 mm overall, 8 mm base height.

**Why is the neck 0.4 mm narrower than the slot?**

DIN 508 sizes the neck a at slot − 0.4 so it slides in a DIN 650 T-slot.
