# Transfer tee for 4 × 6 mm tube

> What joins the two cylinders of an alpha Stirling engine?

- Category: Stirling engines › Drives & mechanisms
- Kind: Hardware
- Basis: Sockets at the 6 mm OD of 4 × 6 tube (fit: press), flow bores at its 4 mm ID
- Page: https://xemstudio.com/objects/transfer-tee-4mm/ · JSON: https://xemstudio.com/api/geometry?object=transfer-tee-4mm · Plain text: https://xemstudio.com/objects/transfer-tee-4mm/sheet.txt

**Exact dimensions.** Every file is drawn at true size with no printing tolerance. The holes and pins that meet another part are listed below under Mating features, with the fit each joint needs; open those by your printer's or process's clearance before making the part.

## Notes

- A tee with a Ø10 body: the run along X with port faces 13 mm either side of the centre, the branch at right angles with its port face 13 mm out.
- Each port is a Ø6 socket 8 deep: the 6 mm OD of 4 × 6 tube pushes in (fit: press) until it bottoms 5 mm from the centre. Ø4 flow bores, the tube's ID, join the three socket floors.
- Same ports as the transfer elbow; the tee joins three lines (hot cylinder, cold cylinder and a third line such as a gauge).

## Mating features (exact size; open press / slide / run / socket by your process clearance, leave designed and clamp as drawn)

| feature | exact | mates with | fit | files |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| transfer-tee sockets | Ø6 × 8 | 6 mm OD of 4 × 6 tube | press | transfer-tee-* |
| transfer-tee flow bores | Ø4 | 4 mm tube ID (no contact) | designed | transfer-tee-* |

## Sizes

| parameter | value |
|---|---|
| body | Ø10, run 26 port to port, branch 13 |
| sockets | Ø6 × 8 (3) |
| flow bores | Ø4 |
| tube end from centre | 5 |

## How it fits

### Goes in or on
- [Alpha V-twin frame for two 10 mL syringes at 90°](https://xemstudio.com/objects/alpha-v-twin-syringe-frame/): between the V-twin's syringe tips
- [Ross yoke alpha frame for two 10 mL syringes](https://xemstudio.com/objects/ross-yoke-frame/): between the Ross alpha's syringe tips

### Connects to
- [Silicone tube 1 × 3 to 10 × 14 mm (ID × OD)](https://xemstudio.com/objects/silicone-tube/): 4 mm tube in each Ø4 bore
- [Plastic syringes 1–60 mL as pistons and cylinders](https://xemstudio.com/objects/plastic-syringes/): tube to each syringe tip
- [Regenerator matrix disc Ø44 / Ø32 × 0.5 mm (mesh counts #40–#200)](https://xemstudio.com/objects/regenerator-mesh-disc/): regenerator in the line between the cylinders

## Questions

**What size tube does the transfer tee take?**

4 × 6 tube: the 6 mm OD goes into Ø6 sockets 8 deep (fit: press); the Ø4 flow bores match the tube's ID.

**What turns a transfer line through 90°?**

The transfer elbow, with the same Ø6 × 8 sockets; the two-syringe alphas on this site use elbows between their tips.
