# Split burner shroud for a vertical 2 in tri-clamp hot end

> How do I keep a burner flame on a vertical tri-clamp hot end?

- Category: Hardware › Stirling & thermoacoustic
- Kind: Hardware
- Basis: Design values: shell 6 mm outside the Ø76 fins, open bottom over the torch stand, lid clamped on the tube

**Exact dimensions.** Every file is drawn at true size with no printing tolerance. The holes and pins that meet another part are listed below under Mating features, with the fit each joint needs; open those by your printer's or process's clearance before making the part.

## Notes

- Two halves that clamp the hot spool's tube with their lids (2 × M4 × 20) just above the fins and hang round them, open at the bottom: the torch or burner below fires up into it, the gas leaves through six windows under the lid.
- It touches only the tube at the lid. The heat source is the builder's choice: a propane or butane torch head in the torch stand, or a small gas burner firing into the open bottom.

## Mating features (exact size; open press / slide / run / socket by your process clearance, leave designed and clamp as drawn)

| feature | exact | mates with | fit | files |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| lid bore | Ø50.8 | hot spool tube OD | clamp | all |
| split | 1.0 total (0.5 per half) | the other half | clamp | all |
| ear holes | Ø4.5 | M4 clearance (ISO 273 medium) | designed | all |
| shell | r 44–46 | fins and flame (no contact) | designed | all |

## Sizes

| feature | value |

## Questions

**Does it carry the engine?**

No: the hangers do.
