Waved wheel on an upright shaft lifting and lowering a bar — dimension sheet Source: Xem Studio, https://xemstudio.com/objects/waved-wheel-reciprocating-bar-mechanism/ (sheet CC BY 4.0; files Xem Studio Design License, https://xemstudio.com/license/) Basis: Xem Studio design following Brown No. 165 (1868) Catalog version: 2026-10-20 Sizes: see table below - The upper face of a wheel on an upright shaft rises and falls in waves round its circumference. A bar standing on it through a roller is lifted by each crest and lowered by each hollow as the wheel turns: two waves give two strokes per turn, with the motion of the wave's shape (here a sine). - Ø60 wheel, face z = 14 + 4 sin 2θ (8 mm stroke, two per turn); a 623 bearing on a radial pin under an 8 × 8 bar rests on it, drawn on a crest. The bar's guide is not drawn. - Brown's No. 165 (waved wheel on an upright shaft giving a rising and falling motion to a bar). - Parts (each has its own page): waved-face-wheel-60-2-waves-a4-bore8, waved-wheel-follower-bar-8x8-roller-pin, ball-bearings-metric, dowel-pins-metric, linear-shafts-h6. - Brown's movement No. 165 (1868) shows it; this model is a Xem Studio design following his figure, every part at true size. parameter value wheel Ø60, 2 waves stroke 8 mm strokes per turn 2 roller 623 bearing, radial axis Files elsewhere (not hosted by Xem Studio; license as stated by the publisher): - Henry T.
