Hex weld nuts, DIN 929: M3–M16 pilot diameter, height, across flats, sheet thickness range — dimension sheet Source: Xem Studio, https://xemstudio.com/objects/weld-nuts-din-929/ (sheet CC BY 4.0) Basis: fasten.it's DIN 929 table (12/2013), cross-checked on m, s, e and the pilot diameter against GlobalFastener's DIN 929 table; numbers only Catalog version: 2026-10-20 Sizes: see table below - Columns (mm) as fasten.it prints them: d thread, P pitch, d2 (tolerance d11, the projection / pilot diameter), m height (h14), s width across flats (h13), e across corners (min), d3 (H13, equal to d2 in every row, shown once), a sheet thickness range as a minimum to maximum. GlobalFastener's DIN 929 table agrees with fasten.it on m, s, e and d2 for every size M3 to M16 (e.g. M8: m 6.5, s 14, e 15.38, d2 10.5; M10: 8, 17, 18.74, 12.5). Its flattened layout was read with inferred column alignment, so only these four quantities were compared. - d2 is read as the diameter of the centring projection and d3 (equal to d2 in every row, with an H13 tolerance class) as the matching sheet-hole diameter; the page does not say so, so check a maker drawing. The projection heights (GlobalFastener h1 0.55 to 1.8, h2 0.25 to 1.0 max) and the weld projection geometry are not described well enough to draw. The standard covers coarse thread M3 to M16 and fine thread 8 to 16 mm, product grade A (fasten.it); GlobalFastener also lists a 7/16-20 UNF size, not tabulated here. Sizes in brackets, such as M14, are non-preferred (GlobalFastener). - No file: the weld projections and the underside shape are not published as numbers in the sources read. Rivet nuts (blind threaded inserts, no welding): rivet-nuts-flat-head. McMaster-Carr sells projection weld nuts with per-part STEP; the category is linked, not copied. thread P (mm) d2 (pilot dia, d11) m (height, h14) s (across flats, h13) e min d3 (H13) a (sheet thickness) M3 0.5 4.5 3 7.5 8.15 4.5 0.63–1.5 M4 0.7 6 3.5 9 9.83 6 0.75–1.5 M5 0.8 7 4 10 10.95 7 0.88–2 M6 1 8 5 11 12.02 8 0.88–2.5 M8 1.25 10.5 6.5 14 15.38 10.5 1–3 M10 1.5 12.5 8 17 18.74 12.5 1.25–4 M12 1.75 14.8 10 19 20.91 14.8 1.5–5 M14 2 16.8 11 22 24.27 16.8 2–6 M16 2 18.8 13 24 26.51 18.8 2–6 Files elsewhere (not hosted by Xem Studio; license as stated by the publisher): - fasten.it: DIN 929 hexagon weld nuts (12/2013): d2, m, s, e, d3, sheet thickness a, M3 to M16 — web — Reference page; numbers only — https://fasten.it/norms/norm/din_929 - GlobalFastener: DIN 929 hexagon weld nuts: b, d1, d2, d3, e, h1, h2, m, s (max / min) M3 to M16 and 7/16-20 UNF — web — Reference page; column alignment inferred by the page — https://www.globalfastener.com/standards/detail_256.html - McMaster-Carr: Projection weld nuts (free STEP/IGES per part, for your own design use; no redistribution) — STEP, IGES, PDF — McMaster-Carr site terms: personal design use, no redistribution [verify license at link] — https://mcmaster.com/products/projection-weld-nuts No true-size file yet: the published figures do not fix the whole shape; a measured scan is planned.
