Measured, rebuilt, printed to prove it.

Xem Studio publishes the exact exterior geometry of real objects so covers, mounts, docks and adapters fit the first time. For people, and for the AI agents people now ask to design them.

How it's made

There's an MCP for this

An assistant asked for a cover or a mount needs the real object's dimensions, not a guess from photos. The library is written for that reader.

FAQ

What is sold?

Measured geometry of real objects: free dimension sheet, cleaned mesh ($4–8), STEP solid ($9–19). Every Xem file states a tolerance measured on a printed test part.

How accurate?

Structured-light scan, rebuilt in CAD, checked with calipers and a printed ring. Modern devices to about ±0.15 mm on mating surfaces. Vintage objects publish as design geometry, where form matters more than the last tenth.

Is selling scans of commercial products legal?

The files describe external shape so other things can fit it, which is how the aftermarket-accessory industry works; functional shape isn't copyrightable. Logos and badges are never included, files are never presented as the manufacturer's CAD, and other publishers' files are linked under their own licenses, never rehosted.

Will the free hardware files actually print?

That's the point. Dimensions come from the standard, threads are modeled as plain cylinders, and the tri-clamp faces follow ISO 2852:1974 (2.85 mm rim, 1.6 mm recess, 20° back cone). Print the plastic, check the fit, then buy the metal.

Can you scan something for me?

Yes. Ask in the Discord with a photo and what needs to fit it. Requests set the order.

Who

Xem Studio is part of Long Earth Society, Mesa, Arizona, the same shop that builds Stirling engines out of tri-clamp spools. The hardware shelf exists because I needed it.
