Water tray for a 10 in cold cap (optional)
How do I cool the top of a big flat Stirling engine? · Hardware · basis: Exact geometry
Long Earth Society build part. Parts of the HTD engines. The engines
Exact dimensions. Every file is drawn at true size with no printing tolerance. The holes and pins that meet another part are listed below under Mating features, with the fit each joint needs; open those by your printer's or process's clearance before making the part. Mating features

Notes
- A separate heat exchanger, optional: an open ring tray that sits on the cold cap's flat top round the 2 in ferrule and holds water. The cap takes about the cup wall's leak plus the engine's rejected heat (a few hundred watts at full fire), so the water warms and has to be topped up; ice water helps. The engine runs without it, hotter on the cold side.

Questions
Does the engine need the tray?
No, but the cold side runs hotter and the output drops without it.
