Notes

  • HF is a one-way needle roller clutch in a drawn-cup shell: it locks the shaft in one direction and freewheels in the other (indexers, ratchets, backstops, hand-crank winches, fan and printer drives). It is a press fit in a housing bore of D; Fw is the circle inscribed to the rollers, so the shaft must be hardened and ground to that size (the HF number is Fw then width: HF1012 = 10 x 12). The matching radial bearing in the table is the HK drawn-cup needle bearing of the same Fw (page: needle-roller-bearings-hk-series).
  • Numbers: NTN's one-way clutch table (Fw, D, C, torque Md, mass, matching HK bearing) for HF0612 to HF3520. HF1012 (10 x 14 x 12, 5.3 N m, r min 0.3, width tolerance 0/-0.3) is also on Simply Bearings, and HF0406 (4 x 8 x 6, 0.34 N m) only there, labelled as a non-standard bore. NTN's table has no HF0406, HF0306, HF0608 or HF2020. The NSK HF0812 page could not be read, so there is no maker CAD link here.
  • Numbers only, no files: the cup lip, roller and spring geometry and the chamfers are not published in the tables read (only HF1012 and HF0406 have an r min, both from one distributor).
  • Left out: the maximum speed (only one distributor's value was read), HFL / HFZ variants, the radial-load part numbers printed in the NTN table, and the HK bearing dimensions (see the HK page).
