Sanitary clamp end caps (16AMP): ½ to 4 in
What are the dimensions of a tri-clamp end cap for each size? · Standard part · basis: ASME BPE / 3-A clamp-fitting dimensions published identically by Dixon and Steel & O'Brien; ISO 2852 face profile
Exact dimensions. Every file is drawn at true size with no printing tolerance. The holes and pins that meet another part are listed below under Mating features, with the fit each joint needs; open those by your printer's or process's clearance before making the part. Mating features

Notes
- A solid end cap (16AMP) with the ISO 2852 face. Caps go by flange, not tube: one cap closes both ½ and ¾ in (Ø25.0), one closes both 1 and 1½ in (Ø50.5).
- Thickness: 4.78 mm (0.188 in) on the Ø25.0 cap, 6.35 mm (0.25 in) on Ø50.5 to Ø91.0, 7.92 mm (0.312 in) on the 4 in Ø119.0 cap.
- Faces are the ISO 2852 profile (2.85 mm rim, 1.6 mm gasket recess, 20° back cone run on from the rim to the flat back, as on a ferrule) on the BPE flange diameters; the groove diameter on ½, ¾ and 4 in is derived (flange − 7.0 / 7.5 mm), the rest is from the standard.
- The 6 mm cap the tri-clamp engine heads are built on is a separate page (tri-clamp-end-cap).

Questions
How thick is a 2 inch tri-clamp end cap?
6.35 mm (0.25 in) on the Ø64.0 flange.
Does a 1 inch cap fit a 1½ inch ferrule?
Yes: both use the Ø50.5 flange, so one cap closes either.
