2 in double-faced guide plate for a hollow Ø10 piston rod

How do I guide a piston rod inside a tri-clamp crankcase? · Hardware · basis: ISO 2852 faces on both sides as the clamp-in bearing plate on this site; bushing size from its standard

Notes

  • Clamped between the power cylinder and the reducer with a gasket and a clamp on each face. Two 10 × 14 × 15 sleeve bushings 48.4 mm apart guide the hollow piston rod, so the con-rod's side load never reaches the piston. Four Ø8 vents connect the back of the piston to the crankcase (the buffer).

Questions

Why two bushings?

One bushing is a pivot; two 48 mm apart hold the rod straight.
