Notes

  • DIN 464 covers knurled thumb screws, high type, M1 to M10 (2007-01 edition on the fasten.it page); rows here are M2 to M10 as read, in mm. Columns are the page's letters: P pitch, b, dk, ds, h, k, n and t (min / max). The page does not define them. A Würth listing for the DIN 464 M5 x 20 screw (A2K, property class 5.8) prints pitch 0.8, shank diameter 10, thread length 15, head diameter 20 and head height 4, which match fasten.it's M5 values for P, ds, b, dk and k respectively; that is the only cross-check made, so b is read as the thread length, dk as the head diameter, ds as the diameter Würth lists as the shank diameter and k as the head height Würth quotes; h (11.5 for M5) is a separate column and is not defined by either source.
  • The table also carries n and t (min / max); neither source defines them in words and the Würth screw has no slot, so they are shown as the table's columns only. M1 to M1.6 sizes exist in the standard but were not read.
  • Not published as numbers in the sources read: the knurl pattern and depth, the head's profile between dk, ds, h and k, edge radii. No file is drawn for that reason.
  • DIN 464 is the high type. McMaster-Carr's thumb-screw categories carry per-part STEP; its knurled-head page lists inch sizes 0-80 to 1/4-28 and the metric page is linked, not copied.
