Notes

  • A centreboard pivots out of a slot in the hull; lowering it adds lateral lift, raising it reduces drag and allows shallow water and trailering (Wikipedia).
  • It is more complex than a fixed keel and its case adds drag and takes interior space (Wikipedia).
  • The file is a reference example built by Xem Studio from the numbers above (Illustrative.). Sizes the sources do not fix are illustrative; scale the example to your own vehicle.

Why pivot?

So it can kick up on grounding and be partly raised (Wikipedia).
