- Drip tubing is named by a nominal size that is not a measured diameter. 1/4 in micro tubing is 0.170 in ID × 0.250 in OD (4.32 × 6.35 mm) at DripWorks and DIG; DIG's own page prints the 1/4 in ID as a range, .140 in to .170 in. 1/8 in tubing is 0.125 × 0.187 in (DIG). DripWorks says its 1/4 in tubing fits 1/4 in barbed micro fittings and will not fit 1/8 in barbs.
- 1/2 in 'half-inch' tubing is sold in several ID × OD sizes, so the barbed or compression fitting has to match the tube you own: DIG's specification list shows .520 × .620, .570 × .670, .600 × .700 and .620 × .710 in, and its model table also lists 0.530 × 0.630, 0.580 × 0.690 and .615 × .710 in. The common one, 0.600 in ID × 0.700 in OD (17.8 mm OD), matches Hunter's TWPE-700 (OD 17.8 mm × ID 15.2 mm). DIG prints a 1/2 in operating pressure up to 60 psi (4.2 bar) and wall 0.050 in (0.045 in for the .620 × .710).
- Barbed fitting dimensions (barb OD, barb length, number of barbs) are not published in any page read: DIG lists its 1/4 in barbed fittings (long barb, tee, elbow, short barb) without sizes, and retailer pages give only the nominal tube size. They are left out, and no barb geometry is drawn. For hose barbs and silicone tube see silicone-tube-and-fittings; for an unthreaded garden-hose connection see garden-hose-thread. 3/4 in and 1 in mainline polyethylene pipe follow IPS / CTS sizes and are not on this page.
