Lifting eye nuts, DIN 582, M6–M100x6: ring, collar, height and thread

What are the dimensions of a DIN 582 lifting eye nut for M8, M10, M12 or M16? · Standard part · basis: fasten.it's DIN 582 table (2018 edition, 25 sizes M6 to M100x6), with Ganter's DIN 582 datasheet as a cross-check of d2 and d3; numbers only. Load values are left out on purpose

Notes

  • All values are mm in the fasten.it 2018 table (it replaces the 09/2010 edition, which that page marks as superseded). Columns are the page's own symbols in the order printed: d1 thread, d2, d3, d4, e, h, k, m, r (≈). The page does not define the letters in text (its drawing is an image), so none is interpreted here; read them against the DIN 582 drawing.
  • Ganter's DIN 582 datasheet (steel, M6 to M36; stainless M6 to M24) agrees with the table for d2 and d3 at M6, M8, M10, M12, M16, M20, M24, M30 and M36 (20 / 36, 20 / 36, 25 / 45, 30 / 54, 35 / 63, 40 / 72, 50 / 90, 65 / 108, 75 / 126). Ganter notes that the official sheet also lists M42, M48, M56, M64, M72x6, M80x6 and M100x6, which matches the rows above. The odd sizes (M14, M18, M22, M27, M33, M39, M45, M52, M60) are in the fasten.it table only.
  • Load ratings (Ganter prints three load columns F1, F2, F3 without defining them) are left out: they depend on the load direction and are not safe to quote from a table without the standard. Ganter's note says the eye nut must be fully screwed in, both threads must be of equal length, and the mating material must be at least as strong as the nut.
  • Related: the stud-type lifting eye bolt (DIN 580) is eye-bolts-din-580, and the inch shoulder eye bolt is shoulder-eye-bolts-inch.
  • No file: the section of the ring and collar is not given as numbers in the sources read, so a drawing would be invented. McMaster-Carr sells eye nuts for lifting with per-part STEP; linked, not copied.

Questions

What are the d2 and d3 of an M12 DIN 582 eye nut?

d2 = 30 and d3 = 54 mm (fasten.it; Ganter agrees), with h = 53, k = 12, m = 14 and r ≈ 6 mm.

Which DIN 582 sizes are standard?

fasten.it lists M6, M8, M10, M12, M14, M16, M18, M20, M22, M24, M27, M30, M33, M36, M39, M42, M45, M48, M52, M56, M60, M64, then M72x6, M80x6 and M100x6 (fine thread).

Is the M8 eye nut the same size as the M6?

In this table yes: M6 and M8 both have d2 20, d3 36, d4 20, e 8.5, h 36, k 8, m 10 and r 4 mm; likewise M14 / M16, M18 / M20 and M22 / M24.
