Alpha V-twin, two 10 mL syringes

Two syringes in a 90° V on one crank pin: the alpha with no displacer, checked so the pistons stay in and the rods clear.

stroke 16 · rod 60 · 2.6 mL per cylinder · 90° phase from the V · Ø100 nut flywheel

Build order

  1. Print the frame, crank disc, two con-rods, two syringe pistons, crankshaft, pin, spacers, flywheel, transfer tee.
  2. Lap each piston into its barrel until it sinks slowly with the tip open; no oil.
  3. Press the 625s into the boss; shaft through with the 2 mm spacer; crank disc on its D-flat, grub tight.
  4. Pin into the disc; 1 mm spacer, rod 1 (to the +45° socket), 1 mm spacer, rod 2; 3 mm collar on the pin end.
  5. Pistons onto the rods with the 3 × 12 dowels; slide the barrels over the pistons from the crank side, tip outward, flange against the socket; pinch screws.
  6. Tee with a mesh plug between the tips on short silicone tube; flywheel on the back of the shaft.
  7. Heat the hot barrel's tip end; flick the flywheel.
