  • The sources print the tubing inside diameter each barb is made for, and nothing else about the barb: no barb outside diameter, no length. So this page is a tube-size table, not a barb drawing. Nordson Value Plastics sorts its barbs into series (200, 300, 400, 500, as printed; the numbers are series names, not dimensions) and lists male Luer lock (integral lock ring), male Luer slip, and fittings made to fit a separate rotating or stationary lock ring. Qosina's polycarbonate kit lists a female and a male Luer lock barbed connector for each of six tube IDs. Darwin Microfluidics' male Luer lock to barb adapters (1/16, 3/32, 1/8 in ID, polypropylene or nylon) agree with the matching Nordson sizes.
  • Tube size means the inside diameter of the soft tube that is stretched over the barb: 1/16 in (1.6 mm), 3/32 (2.4 mm), 1/8 (3.2 mm), 5/32 (4.0 mm), 3/16 (4.8 mm), 1/4 (6.4 mm). Nordson prints one oddity, .170 in (4.3 mm), for a 400-series part. Qosina prints the exact inch value too (for example 3/16 in = 0.188 in = 4.76 mm). mm values in the last column are the sources' own where printed and the inch value × 25.4 otherwise.
  • The Luer end is the 6 % cone of luer-connectors-iso-594-80369-7. A 4 × 6 mm silicone or airline tube (4 mm ID) is closest to the 5/32 in (4.0 mm) barb; 3/16 in ID airline tubing matches the 3/16 in (4.8 mm) barb: see aquarium-airline-tubing. Which barb is right for your tube is a matter of the maker's data; this page does not rate fits.
  • No file: barb OD, length and barb profile are not published as numbers in any source read. Qosina publishes CAD for its Luer parts for registered users and Nordson Medical publishes models on its site; linked, not copied.
