Ball transfer units: Alwayse Euro units 515 / 522 / 530 / 545 and 3000 flange unit, Omnitrack series: ball size, body, height, seating hole, fixing

What are the dimensions of a ball transfer unit (ball roller): ball diameter, body diameter, height, seating hole or flange hole spacing, and stud thread? · Standard part · basis: Alwayse's catalogue and maker data pages (tuli-shop, RS), Omnitrack's GlobalSpec series pages; rows with only one source are marked

Also called: ball transfer unit dimensions, ball transfer unit 15.8 mm, ball transfer 22 mm, alwayse 515, alwayse 522, alwayse ball transfer, omnitrack ball transfer, ball roller dimensions, ball transfer unit hole size, ball transfer unit seating hole, ball transfer flange mounting holes, ball transfer table ball size, ball transfer unit stud thread, omnitrack 91 series

Exact dimensions. Every file is drawn at true size with no tolerance added. The holes and pins that meet another part are listed below under Mating features, with the fit each joint needs; open those by your process's clearance before making the part. Mating features

Notes

  • Ball transfer units (ball rollers, ball casters, ball transfers, 'ball bearing tables') are a captive large ball on a bed of small balls in a housing, used to build omnidirectional load tables. They come in three mounting families: clip-in (Alwayse Euro units: the unit drops into a plain hole in the table and a 3-prong clip fixes it from the top face), flange (screws through two or four holes) and threaded stud. B is the height of the ball top above the mounting plane, C how far the ball stands out of the outer ring, A the largest diameter (the flange).
  • Where the numbers come from and how far they can be trusted: the Alwayse catalogue (Euro units table) was read with a scrambled text extraction, so only rows whose columns could be matched to the maker's own product pages are shown: for 515-2 (ball 15.8: D 24, B 9.5, L 21, A 31, F 2.8, C 3.2, seating hole 25.0 to 25.5 for a 2 mm table, 60 kg) and 522-0 (ball 22.2: D 36, B 9.8, L 30, A 45, F 2.8, C 4.3, 160 kg) the catalogue row and the tuli-shop data page agree. The 530-0 and 545-0 rows are the catalogue's only (column order checked on 515 and 522, so the same order is read here); their loads and seating holes are not shown. The catalogue's load for 522-0 read 100 kg in the scrambled text; tuli-shop and RS both give 160 kg, which is used.
  • Omnitrack's per-model data (ball, body, height, hole pattern) is behind a sign-in on the sources read; GlobalSpec's series pages give only ranges (ball 12.7 to 102 mm, body 23.8 to 228 mm, square flanges of 1-3/4, 2-1/4, 3, 5 and 7 in, fixing centres 'on request', load 100 to 10,000 lb). No hole spacing is claimed for Omnitrack. For a hole pattern from a published source use the Alwayse 3000: two holes Ø5.1 mm on 44.5 mm centres.
  • Left out: Alwayse mini (11MI), thread, tube, base fixing, heavy duty 800, Hi-Tech, spring loaded and die lifter series (catalogue tables not readable), other makers' units, and the interior (inner race, balls, seals), which no source gives as numbers. No file: the ball position inside the housing and the outer ring profile are not published, so a solid would be guessed.
