Compression cable lugs, DIN 46235: stud hole, palm width and length, 6 to 300 mm² × M5 to M20 (+ stud-hole gauge)
What are the dimensions of a DIN 46235 compression cable lug: stud hole diameter, palm width, length and barrel size for each cross-section and bolt size? · Standard part · basis: DIN 46235 lug table (6 to 300 mm², M5 to M20, 69 rows) from a catalogue mirror, checked against HELUKABEL, Pfisterer and Schrack pages; maker differences shown; stud-hole gauge file is Xem-drawn
Also called: din 46235, cable lug dimensions, tube cable lug size chart, rohrkabelschuh maße, cable lug 50mm2 m10, cable lug 70mm2 m8, 95mm2 cable lug m12, 35 mm2 lug stud hole, kabelschuh din 46235 tabelle, battery cable lug 25mm2 m8, heavy duty copper lug dimensions, cable lug hole size m10 10.5, crimp lug 120mm2, lug palm width
Exact dimensions. Every file is drawn at true size with no tolerance added. The holes and pins that meet another part are listed below under Mating features, with the fit each joint needs; open those by your process's clearance before making the part. Mating features

Notes
- DIN 46235 compression (crimp) cable lugs: a copper tube lug with a flat palm and one hole, crimped hexagonally onto a round stranded conductor of 6 to 1000 mm² (Klauke: stud hole M5 to M20). Cross-sections here are 6 to 300 mm²; the same d1, d3 apply to every stud size of a cross-section, while d2 (the hole) depends on the stud only: M5 5.3, M6 6.4, M8 8.4, M10 10.5, M12 13, M14 15, M16 17, M20 21 mm. Both facts are checked on all 69 rows.
- Source: a lug catalogue mirrored at dtsheet.com (order numbers 14978xxxxx). The copy is flattened text and the source itself warns the columns were re-aligned, so six rows were checked against independent maker pages: 240 mm² M12 at HELUKABEL agrees on all four values (hole 13, strand bore 21.5, width 42.5, length 92); Schrack 150 mm² M10: width 34, length 78, hole 10.5 (table: 34, 79, 10.5).
- Makers differ by about a millimetre on b and l: Pfisterer's 10 mm² M6 lug has b 8.5, d1 4.5, d2 6.5, L 27.5 (table: b 10, d1 4.4, d2 6.4, l 27); 50 mm² M12: b 22, d1 10, d2 13, L 51 (table: b 23, d1 9.8, d2 13, l 52); 120 mm² M10: b 32, d1 15.5, d2 10.5, L 69 (table: b 31, d1 15.5, d2 10.5, l 70). DIN 46235 fixes the stud holes and strand bores; the palm width and length are maker values, so use the lug you buy for anything tighter than ±1 mm.
- Column meanings: l is the length to the centre of the stud hole (HELUKABEL's legend); d is the strand-receptacle bore (HELUKABEL), here d1; the table prints a third diameter d3, which by its size (a few mm over d1) is the barrel's outside diameter. 'Not in the standard' rows (*) are the catalogue's own marking of sizes outside DIN 46235.
- File: one hole gauge plate with the eight stud-hole diameters from the table. The plate size, spacing and thickness are an example, the holes are the catalogue's. Lug solids are not drawn: palm thickness, barrel length and the palm-to-barrel transition are not in any table read.
- Smaller lugs for crimp terminals by stud size and AWG are on the ring-tongue page; wire ferrules for clamp terminals are on their own page.

Questions
What hole does an M10 cable lug have?
Ø10.5 mm (M8 8.4, M12 13, M16 17, M20 21); the hole depends on the stud only.
How big is a 50 mm² lug for M10?
In the table: strand bore 9.8, barrel Ø14.5, palm width 22 and length 52 mm (to the hole centre); other makers differ by about 1 mm.
What sizes does DIN 46235 cover?
Klauke gives 6 to 1000 mm² with stud holes M5 to M20; this page tabulates 6 to 300 mm².
Are the palm width and length standardised?
Only loosely: Pfisterer, HELUKABEL, Schrack and the catalogue above agree on the holes and bores but differ by up to about 1 mm on b and l.
